The motor hum is almost hypnotic as the pages flip, and watching the creature flicker to life in real time never gets old. It's a tiny mechanical theater that makes my coworkers stop and stare every single time.
I set it on my desk and caught myself just watching the pages flip for a solid ten minutes. The handmade paper sculptures actually flicker like they're moving, which I didn't expect from something motor-driven. Bought it as a gift but I'm keeping this one.
The motor is quieter than I expected, and watching the pages flicker into motion is oddly calming on my desk. Took a day to figure out the timing so the animation loops smoothly, but once it's set it just runs.
