Jean-Michel Basquiat, 1985

The contrast in this print is stunning—Basquiat’s intense gaze really jumps off the matte paper, and the grain feels true to the 1985 film stock. It’s already the centerpiece of my living room wall.

The black-and-white grain really captures the raw intensity of Basquiat’s era, and the print quality does justice to Lynn Goldsmith’s portrait. I’ve had it up for a week and keep stopping to look at the layers of expression in his eyes.
