John Prine, at home, Nashville, 2018

I wasn't expecting the photo to capture such a quiet, reflective side of Prine, but the way the light falls across his desk really brings out the calm in that home office setting. The paper quality feels archival and substantial, too, which makes it feel worth framing.

The black-and-white treatment really suits the contemplative mood of him at his home office, almost like you’re peeking into a private moment. The print arrived crisp and well-packaged, and the framing I chose sets it off perfectly in my living room.

I bought it as a gift because the quiet home-office setting feels so personal, and the framing makes his thoughtful expression the whole focus. The paper has a nice matte finish that really suits the vintage black-and-white style.
