Joni Mitchell, 1976

The skating shot on Lake Mendota has this quiet, frozen stillness that feels so unposed—it’s like a secret moment from 1976. I framed it in a simple black mat and it’s already the focal point of my living room. The paper quality holds the grain of the photo beautifully.

The print arrived in perfect condition, and the detail in the ice and her movement really captures that March 1976 moment beautifully. Only wish the packaging had included a small note about the Prairie Girl connection, but the image itself is a treasure.
