KISS, Gene Simmons, 1979

I’ve been collecting rock photography for years, and this 1979 shot of Gene actually makes him look human beneath all the KISS theatrics. Lynn Goldsmith’s eye for that exact moment is why I framed it in my living room, and the detail in his face holds up even up close.

The print quality really brings out the texture in his face paint and the stage lighting. I hung it in my music room and it’s a great conversation starter, though the frame feels a bit lightweight for the price.
