Right out of the box I could tell the rubber sole was stiff enough to handle rough riverbeds, yet the fit around the ankle felt snug without any pinching. Standing in the current for a couple hours, the traction held steady on algae-covered stones, which made me trust each step.

The rubber sole grips slick rocks way better than my old felt pair, which is a huge relief on the river. They fit true to size and the updated features feel like they’ll hold up through a full season of abuse.

The rubber sole grips surprisingly well on slick, mossy rocks, which was my main worry with a budget boot. My only gripe is they run a touch narrow, so I’d suggest sizing up if you wear thick socks. Solid comfort for a full day of fishing though.
