The drag is buttery smooth right out of the box, and the updated hand feel makes long casting sessions way more comfortable. I've fished it twice already and the line pickup feels solid—exactly what I wanted for a reliable everyday reel.
The reelfoot sits closer to the rod now, so my fingers find it without looking when I'm stripping line. Hand feel is noticeably better than the older version I fished for years. Solid little reel that just does its job.
The drag on this thing is buttery smooth and I barely had to adjust it when a brownie made a run for the weeds. Reelfoot feels solid in hand too, no wobble at all. Two trips in and it's already my go-to for the small stream rod.
