Patti Smith, Tampa, 1977

You can almost feel the sweat and roar of that Tampa crowd through Lynn Goldsmith's lens—the grain is perfect, not too polished, and Smith's raw energy jumps right off the matte paper. It's been up in my hallway for a week and I still stop to stare at it every time I walk past.

The print arrived perfectly flat and well-protected, and the black-and-white tones really bring out the grit of that 1977 performance. Lynn Goldsmith captured something raw here—the way Smith is mid-motion feels almost alive. It’s already framed and up on my wall.
