Prince, Madison Square Garden, NYC, 1985

The way Prince’s movement is frozen mid-stride in that MSG shot makes you feel like you’re in the crowd. The black-and-white contrast is sharp, and it captures the raw energy of that 1985 show perfectly. It’s been hanging in my hallway for a week and I still stop to look at it every time I pass.

The grain in this black-and-white print really captures the gritty energy of that 1985 MSG show, which is exactly what I wanted. My only small gripe is the paper feels a bit thinner than I'd expect for a gallery-grade piece, but the image itself is stunning.
