The velvet has a subtle shimmer that catches the light beautifully, and it wraps twice on me with a secure hold. I bought it for both myself and my daughter, and the three-wrap fit for her is perfect. The silk/rayon blend feels much nicer than the cotton scrunchies I've used before.
