Southwind Plantation, GA

The quail hunting was spectacular and the guides clearly know this land well, though I wish the late-afternoon bird numbers had held up a bit better. That Southern hospitality everyone talks about is real, and the lodge's grounds made for an easy walk between fields even for a less seasoned shooter

The lodge itself is gorgeous and the grounds are well-kept, exactly what you'd expect from an Orvis-endorsed spot. Wish the afternoon shoot had a bit more bird action, but the setting and service more than made up for it.
