Steve McQueen, Hollywood, CA, 1960

The way the light falls across the car's hood in this black-and-white print makes you feel the California sunshine, even in a frame. I've stared at it for a week straight, imagining the drive down Nichols Canyon, and it's exactly the kind of freedom I wanted on my wall.

That photo of McQueen in his Jag captures a very specific, effortless cool — the way the light hits the car’s curve feels almost alive. It’s already the centerpiece of my den, and everyone who sees it stops to ask about it. Exactly the kind of adventurous spirit I wanted on my wall.
