Taza Uki Jumbo Aki Red

The hand-painting really shows when you hold it up to the light—each brushstroke has its own tiny variation, which makes it feel like a one-of-a-kind piece shipped straight from Tajimi. It's got a nice weight to it, not too heavy but solid enough for a proper morning tea.

The glaze has this lovely depth that changes in the light, and you can tell each stroke was done by hand rather than a machine. It feels solid and well-balanced in my hand, exactly what I wanted for slow morning tea.

The hand-painting is what sold me, and up close you can really see the artisan's brushstrokes—no two cups will ever be alike. Knowing it was made in Tajimi, with that deep pottery history, makes my morning tea feel a bit more special.
