The contrast of his bright suit against the dark New York backdrop in this print is striking, really capturing his restless energy. It’s already the centerpiece of my living room.

It captures that brooding, off-center energy Monk had in the early sixties perfectly, and the paper quality really makes the shadows feel deep. Took about four days to arrive, well-packed, and it’s already the focal point of my living room wall.

The black-and-white grain in this print makes Monk look like he’s about to lean into a chord right through the frame. I’ve got it hung above my desk and keep catching myself staring at the shadows on his face.
