Van Halen, 1979

You can almost hear the guitar feedback through Lynn Goldsmith’s lens—the band’s raw energy from 1979 jumps right off the print. The blacks are deep and the grain feels perfectly period-appropriate, like a true archival piece. It’s been up in my hallway for a week and I keep stopping to look at it.

The print arrived perfectly flat and the grain in the black-and-white image really brings out the raw energy of the band. I’ve been staring at Eddie’s expression for ten minutes—it feels like a real moment frozen in time.
