哥倫比亞河峽谷，奧勒岡州

The payoff at the top made every scraped knee worth it, and the way the falls echo off the gorge walls is something I still can't shake. It's brutal, but I've never felt more alive than standing there after earning it.
My calves are still screaming two days later, but the payoff at the top of this gorge was worth every switchback and scramble. The trail description undersells just how brutal the elevation gain is—bring way more water than you think you'll need.
The view of the gorge from the top made every scraped knee and wrong turn worth it, and that final descent to the falls is something I'll replay in my head for years. If you're the kind of person who measures a trip by how hard you had to earn it, this trail delivers everything it promises.
