這些森林巨木實在令人嘆為觀止。我永遠不會忘記第一次造訪紅杉林的經歷。我仰頭向後轉動脖子，仰望這些直衝天際的巨大樹木，心中滿是敬畏。我選擇在冬季拍攝這個場景。那個早晨感覺格外特別。我穿上所有冬季裝備，在吱吱作響的新雪中健行，看著一天中的第一道光芒從背後照亮這些巨木。這就是我想要的畫面——樹木散發著紅光，新雪將森林變成冬季仙境。我永遠不會忘記獨自一人身處此地，與大自然合而為一，四周完全寂靜，只有樹枝上的落雪打破這份寧靜。
I’ve been to a lot of national parks, but these 24 trees capture that exact dizzying moment when you crane your neck and the world tilts upward. The detail on the bark and the way the canopy stretches out of frame makes me feel like I’m standing on the trail again, wrapped in that cool, piney quiet.
The sense of scale comes through so well in these photos—I kept trying to tilt my head back just like I did standing under the real giants. It's the closest thing to being back in that grove without the neck cramps.
The included photos of the big trees in Sequoia National Forest give me goosebumps every time I scroll through them, the scale is just unreal. I keep finding myself staring at the details, it's like a mini vacation from my desk.
