Didn't expect a ruler to feel this substantial, but the solid brass has a nice weight in the hand. It sits on my desk next to the monitor and actually looks like decor instead of office supply. The 6-inch size is perfect for quick sketching without taking over the whole workspace.

The 12-inch brass version has a nice satisfying weight to it, nothing like the flimsy plastic ones I've used for years. It sits on my desk like a piece of decor but still does the job when I actually need to measure something.

Finally, a ruler that doesn't scream "office supply" — the solid brass feels heavy and substantial in the hand, and the 12-inch length has a nice warm glow on my desk. It's more of a conversation piece than a measuring tool, but it does its job perfectly when I need it.
