SUSAN BRANDT BLACHLEY'S STAFF PICKI had the great fortune of meeting Herman Leonard when I began working at the gallery. He was an incredible man and caring person. His talents created the most stunning archive of early jazz legends, because he just loved the music and wanted to capture it. Here with Billie, he was a master of using available lighting or one light. What a beautiful image of Billie for generations to cherish. This Billie Holiday print is signed by the photographer, Herman Leonard.

The sepia tones in this print capture Billie Holiday’s mood perfectly—it feels like stepping into that smoky 1949 club. Frame arrived securely packed, and the paper quality has a nice, archival weight. Minor gripe: the shipping took a few days longer than expected, but the image itself is stunning.

Riley Q. ★★★★☆

The matte finish on this print gives it an almost vintage warmth that fits the era, and the subtle grain keeps it feeling like a genuine moment rather than a reproduction. The image captures Billie Holiday in that classic 1949 pose, and the gallery print quality is crisp, though I wish the frame options included something more modern. It looks great on my wall, but the price feels a bit steep for what you get.
