Description Dulcis in Fundo is a perfect fruity fragrance and we don't say that lightly. Whereas many fruity fragrances get sickly sweet or end up smelling like the olfactory equivalent of neon spandex, Dulcis in Fundo is content to be lightly fruity on one of the most sublime vanilla bases we have come across. All the while the fragrance stays resolutely crisp and restrained. Dulcis in Fundo opens with an explosion of edible citrus. Profumum Roma simply lists "citrus fruits" but we smell tangerine, orange, bergamot and lemon. The heart of the fragrance contains the tropical aura of ylang-ylang evoking the beach on a summer day. There is also a hint of apricot and a dusting of cinnamon lurking beneath the surface of an extremely well-blended composition. As the fragrance moves into the drydown vanilla becomes the star of the composition. This isn't a sickly sweet vanilla nor is it a smoky vanilla. Instead it is a beautiful, gauzy transparent rendering of the note with soft touches of sandalwood and just a hint of something resinous and ambery. Simply said, this is a must-have for any vanilla lover!
