“I was there for the filming of the movie version of the rock opera Tommy, based on The Who’s 1969 album of the same name. The Pinball Wizard sequence, starring Elton complete with The Who has the backing band, was shot at the Kings Theatre in Southsea in 1974. I did hear that Elton only accepted the role on the condition that he could keep the boots.” -Terry O’Neill

Hannah ★★★★★

I framed this and it instantly became the focal point of my living room—the contrast between Elton's glittering boots and the gritty set is striking.

Emma ★★★★★

The black-and-white photo captures Elton mid-performance during the Pinball Wizard shoot, and the grain feels authentic to the era. Framed it in my study and guests always stop to ask about the story behind it.

Grace G. ★★★★☆

The detail in the photo is incredible—you can really see the sparkle on Elton’s costume from the set. It’s a great conversation piece for anyone who loves The Who or classic rock memorabilia. Only wish the frame options were a bit more varied.
