“In 1966, I photographed each individual member of the Rolling Stones at home so as to create a stock library of these more personal and individual images for press use. By this time there was an increasing demand for such images and the band hated the idea of having unknown photographers coming to their homes. Keith is photographed here at his glorious home Redlands in West Sussex with his beloved Bentley motor car, which he called Blue Lena after the great singer Lena Horne. By this time, Keith and I had become pretty close, and the entire day was a joy of picture taking and giggling with Keith showing his own particular take of this rather cheesy ‘at home’ format!” —Gered Mankowitz

Shot with a Hasselblad 500C, 80mm lens, Kodak Tri-X film.

Joshua ★★★★★

The way he’s caught mid-thought, just relaxed in his own space, makes it feel less like a posed portrait and more like a stolen moment. The print quality keeps that intimate mood intact, with deep blacks that really anchor the frame’s 1966 vibe.

Daniel ★★★★★

The grain and tonal range in this print capture that 1966 studio session perfectly, almost like you're peeking into his living room. Frame came well-protected and the paper has a nice matte weight to it; I've already got it up on the wall and keep catching myself staring.

Riley ★★★★★

The contrast in this print is spot on—Keith’s expression feels caught mid-thought, not posed. Printed on heavy matte paper, it’s got that archival look you’d want for a 1966 session. Fits a standard frame perfectly.
