Description It is said that the Lily of the Valley sprung from the eyes of the weeping Virgin Mary during the crucifixion of Jesus, and thus has traditionally been a flower of purity and innocence. In order to put emphasis on its potential use as a fatal poison, we corrupted its sweet fragrant white-floral essence by enveloping it in a "black shroud" and reinforcing that with a base of black leather accord. We also added a salty, wet aspect to suggest tears.

The black leather glove accord is the star here—it’s smoky and soft, not harsh, and the dewy muguet keeps it fresh all day. I get about six hours of solid wear before it settles into a warm, cistus-laced skin scent. This one feels like a secret, and I’m already reaching for it over my other leathers

I was worried the muguet would smell too sweet, but the dewy petals and bergamot keep it fresh and green instead. Once it dries down, that black leather glove accord comes through and it turns into something much moodier. Easily the most interesting thing in my rotation right now.

The leather note is what sold me and it doesn't disappoint, soft and worn-in rather than harsh. The muguet keeps it from feeling heavy, so it works on my skin even in warmer weather. Easily the most complimented thing I own.
