“I met him in his small apartment in Bed-Stuy. We sat in his kitchen and had a cup of tea. He was just a kid and his first album wasn’t even out yet. This photograph circulated around the world upon his sudden death and became emblematic of an era in Hip Hop history. It was copied and reproduced on numerous formats and platforms.
