These hormones regulate the body's metabolism, influencing how fast or slow bodily processes occur. When there's too much thyroid hormone, the body's metabolism speeds up significantly, leading to a variety of symptoms and health issues.

Graves Disease, one of the most common causes of hyperthyroidism is an autoimmune disorder that specifically targets the thyroid gland.
