They have class, they have sass, most importantly they scream at the prospect of social situations.

We all get a little nervous meeting new people or going into crowds but those of us opossums with social phobia would rather eat an old unseasoned boot than go anywhere that may result in an excess of social interactions. We’re often cool with small intimate gatherings, but the more people you add introduces more chances to make a mistake or accidentally offend someone.

Social phobia possum is terrified on the outside and inside, and has two mini possums on their back representing self-consciousness, and avoidant personality. We hope the urge to protect this little possum and their babies will make you feel a little bit braver in your own social situations

IMPORTANT NOTE Regarding the design of our Plushie Dreadfuls. We take these topics seriously. That's why our design team only creates plushies related to issues with which they have direct experience. In cases where our team does not have direct experience, we assemble an external team of experts to help guide our creative process. In addition, we use Crowd Design to engage a wide range of voices via platforms like Instagram and Facebook. We gather and respond to feedback from our audience - many of whom have direct experience with the issues we're exploring. And while we strive to represent as many aspects of a particular issue as possible while avoiding stereotypical representations, we hope you understand that plush toys as an artistic medium do limit the full expression of a particular issue to those things that can be crafted in fabric and stitching.

      Miles M. ★★★★★

The little guy’s paws are surprisingly soft, and those wide, panicked eyes actually make me laugh every time I walk by. It’s the perfect desk buddy for when I’m dreading a phone call but need a tiny, silent scream of solidarity.

      Claire ★★★★★

The opossum's frantic eyes and splayed little paws capture social anxiety perfectly. It’s soft enough to hug when you’re overwhelmed, and the quirky pose always makes me smile.

      James ★★★★★

The little opossum’s pose is perfect—it’s curled up as if bracing for small talk, and the soft, slightly rough faux fur feels just right. I keep it on my desk as a quiet buddy when I’m dreading a call.
