"I had photographed Ray many times. My assistant always recorded new music for our shoots so that both the crew and subjects were entertained. This particular day he had found some early Ray recordings. Ray was blown away by how obscure it was, and reacted in the photo to hearing some of his old musician friends on the record." -- Timothy White

The contrast and grain in this print really bring out the emotion in his expression. I love the story behind it too, with the assistant playing his early recordings during the shoot. A wonderful piece for any music fan.
