The last day of the original Tootsies was a cold icy winter's day. My friend was there with her band so I loaded a light and my cameras in to my El Camino and drove downtown to document the moment. Willie and Kris came into the bar as we were set up, so I took a couple of them standing in my set up, then Willie borrowed Leeann's guitar and played, Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground”.The bar has continued as a tourist place under new ownership, but the true soul was gone, but not on that winter's day.

Black and white really captures the grit of that last day at Tootsies — you can almost feel the cold from the icy parking lot. The detail in Willie’s guitar strings and Kris’s worn denim jacket makes me feel like I snuck into the bar with the photographer.

This print captures the gritty, cold energy of that final day at Tootsies perfectly—you can almost feel the icy air in the lighting. The detail in the worn barstools and old posters brings me right back to that era of Nashville. It's a great piece of music history for any fan.

I was a kid in Nashville back then, so this photo of Willie and Kris at the old Tootsies brings it all right back—the cold light you mention really comes through in the print. The paper has a nice matte finish that makes the details pop without being glossy.
