Product Details

Easy mounting is the point of the Jasion Thunder Pro ST: a lowered top tube lets you step through the frame instead of swinging a leg over. It still rolls on 26 x 4.0 in fat tires with suspension at both ends, driven by a hub motor rated 1200 W sustained and 2000 W at peak.

Highlights

  • Step-through frame: the low top tube makes stops and starts easier, on a bike that carries up to 227 kg and weighs 37.4 kg.
  • Battery and range: 52V 20Ah (1040 Wh), with a brand-rated range of up to 145 km on the lowest assist level and 72 km on the highest; 15 to 80% charging takes 5 h, a full charge 7–8 h.
  • Motor and controls: 115 N·m of torque, a twist throttle, cadence-sensing pedal assist and Shimano 7-speed gearing.
  • Stopping and comfort: hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors at both ends, a hydraulic fork with lockout and a soft-tail rear shock.
  • Speed: 56 km/h top speed by the brand's figure.
  • Everyday extras: a rear rack, colour display, turn signals, brake light, headlight and a phone app that tracks your rides.

Who it suits

Riders who stop and start often, carry groceries or gear, or would rather not lift a leg high, and who still want fat-tire grip for snow, sand and gravel (see fat tires in winter).

Good to know

  • Range is the brand's figure; speed, hills, rider weight, tire pressure and cold all change it. How to estimate your range.
  • Ships free anywhere in Canada (no P.O. boxes).
  • Jasion's own pages disagree on peak power: the store description and one spec table say 1800W, the rest of the page 2000 W.
